7 Card Stud 8 or Better / 7 Card Stud 8/b Rules

7 card stud 8 or better (7 card stud 8/b) works in almost exactly the same way as standard 7 card stud. The only difference is that this is a split game. This means that the pot is split between the best high hand and the best low hand.

Low hands, however, must first qualify as low hands. Low hands must have all five cards below 8. All the cards must also be of different rank - pairs disqualify the hand. Flushes and straights, however, don't count in low hands. If more than one player has a qualifying low hand, the had with the lowest high card wins. The best low hand possible is A2345. If no one has a qualifying low hand, the whole pot will go to the best high hand.
